This project is an example of conscious, coherent architecture, in which dark brick combined with a dynamically sloping roof made of RHEINZINK-CLASSIC sheet metal creates a distinctive form while remaining in harmony with the idyllic landscape of the Dutch countryside.

A key design strategy is the use of the same material—RHEINZINK-CLASSIC—and the angled standing seam technique on both the roof and the façade. This approach results in a unified, uninterrupted volume, while the contrast between the neutral grey of zinc and the dark brick clearly emphasizes the building’s geometry.

Large glazed openings connect the interiors with the surrounding landscape, and the restrained material palette—brick, metal, and glass—highlights the home’s modern and functional character. The project is also an example of sustainable and durable architecture: RHEINZINK-CLASSIC is a natural, fully recyclable material that develops a noble patina over time, requiring no painting or costly maintenance. Combined with traditional brick, it creates a building that not only looks good today but is designed to perform for decades—aesthetically, technically, and environmentally.
